Terms of use and subscription

Version 2026-10-08 (draft). These terms apply between you and the owner of Lot & Lume (company registration under way; details follow here before any sale) ("Lot & Lume", "we").

1. What Lot & Lume is

Lot & Lume is a search engine for watches offered by auction houses, dealers, pawnbrokers and marketplaces. We collect what those sellers publish, show it in one place, estimate what a watch costs delivered to your country, and judge prices against comparable listings and results. We do not sell watches, take part in any sale, or handle payment for a watch. A purchase is always between you and the seller, on the seller's terms.

2. Estimates, not advice

Verdicts ("good price", "what to bid"), delivered-price estimates, fair-value figures, AI overviews and alerts are estimates made automatically from public listings, results and exchange rates. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and they are not investment, legal or tax advice, and not an authentication of any watch. Check the listing, the watch, the seller and the costs yourself before you buy or bid. How we judge prices is explained on How prices are judged.

3. Accounts

You must be 18 or older. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens in your account. One account per person. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can.

4. Plans and prices

Pro: €9 a month or €90 a year. Collector: €19 a month or €190 a year. No VAT is charged while the business is below the Danish VAT registration threshold; if that changes, the price you pay stays the same until you are told otherwise. New accounts get 14 days of Pro free, without a card; after that the account continues on the free plan unless you subscribe. Your subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. We tell you at least 30 days before any price change, and you can cancel before it applies. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account page, in two clicks. The plan then runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. Hunts beyond the free plan's limit are paused, not deleted, and come back if you subscribe again.

6. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you can withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. Use "Withdraw from contract" on your account page, the model form, or write to hello@lotandlume.com. If you asked us to start the service straight away, you pay for the days you used before you withdrew; you get the rest back within 14 days, to the card you paid with. Details: Withdrawal and refunds.

7. Fair use

Do not copy the index in bulk, scrape the site, resell its data, share an account, or try to get around the plan limits or the site's security. Automated access needs our written permission.

8. Third-party listings

Listings, photos and prices belong to the sellers who publish them. Photos are shown from the sellers' own websites. If you are a seller and do not want to appear, see our takedown policy.

9. Liability

We provide the service with care but cannot promise it is always available or free of errors. We are not liable for losses arising from a purchase, a bid or a decision you make, or from the content of third-party listings. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for gross negligence or intent, or your rights as a consumer.

10. Changes

We may change these terms; we tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before a change that matters to you, and you can cancel before it applies.

11. Complaints and law

Write to hello@lotandlume.com first; we answer within 14 days. If we cannot agree, you can complain to Nævnenes Hus (Center for Klageløsning), Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, naevneneshus.dk. Danish law applies, without taking away the consumer protection of the country where you live.
