What to bid
Rough bid guideWe could not match this listing to auction results for its exact reference, so there is no bid ladder. Here is a rough guide from what dealers ask for the 973 Rolex Oyster Perpetual listings we have, all versions, instead.
Bought here, the buyer's premium, shipping, and import VAT and duty to Denmark add about 73% to the hammer. Stop at about USD 2,700 and you pay 20% less than a dealer's USD 5,780: a fair discount for buying without a dealer's warranty or return. A rough guide from every Rolex Oyster Perpetual listing we have (USD 5,780 – 11,456), not the same reference; no title came close enough to narrow them down, and they mix sizes and versions, so we take the cheaper quarter of what dealers ask.
Before you bidfive checks
- The seller guarantees in writing that the watch is genuine and takes it back if it is not.
- The photos show the case back, clasp, and the serial and reference numbers between the lugs. Ask for them if not.
- You know every fee: the buyer's premium (often 20–25% online), shipping and insurance, and import VAT.
- "New", "polished" and "electronically tested" prove nothing: polished means it has been worked on, and an electronic test checks gold, not a watch.
- Decide your maximum before the sale and don't go above it.
