What to bid

Rough bid guide

We could not match this listing to auction results for its exact reference, so there is no bid ladder. Here is a rough guide from what dealers ask for the 4 most similar watches instead.

The house estimates
USD 9,000 – 11,000
If it sells like the rest
about USD 10,080 hammer

At Fortuna Auction, watches that sold went for a median 1.12× their low estimate (the middle half 0.97–1.41×), from 294 results; unsold lots are not counted. Estimates are set by the house to draw bidders, so treat this as context, not a valuation.

Dealers askUSD 11,798median, 4 similar
Fees and import+65%on top of the hammer
Most to bidUSD 5,700hammer

Bought here, the buyer's premium, shipping, and import VAT and duty to Denmark add about 65% to the hammer. Stop at about USD 5,700 and you pay 20% less than a dealer's USD 11,798: a fair discount for buying without a dealer's warranty or return. A rough guide from the 4 most similar Rolex Cellini listings (USD 6,776 – 17,145), not the same reference. Only 4 of them, so treat it as a very rough guide.

Before you bidfive checks
  • The seller guarantees in writing that the watch is genuine and takes it back if it is not.
  • The photos show the case back, clasp, and the serial and reference numbers between the lugs. Ask for them if not.
  • You know every fee: the buyer's premium (often 20–25% online), shipping and insurance, and import VAT.
  • "New", "polished" and "electronically tested" prove nothing: polished means it has been worked on, and an electronic test checks gold, not a watch.
  • Decide your maximum before the sale and don't go above it.
