Bought here, the buyer's premium, shipping, and import VAT and duty to Denmark add about 64% to the hammer. Stop at about USD 6,200 and you pay 20% less than a dealer's USD 12,650: a fair discount for buying without a dealer's warranty or return. A rough guide from the 16 most similar IWC Ingenieur listings (USD 11,788 – 14,276), not the same reference.
Before you bidfive checks
- The seller guarantees in writing that the watch is genuine and takes it back if it is not.
- The photos show the case back, clasp, and the serial and reference numbers between the lugs. Ask for them if not.
- You know every fee: the buyer's premium (often 20–25% online), shipping and insurance, and import VAT.
- "New", "polished" and "electronically tested" prove nothing: polished means it has been worked on, and an electronic test checks gold, not a watch.
- Decide your maximum before the sale and don't go above it.
