What to bid

Rough bid guide

We could not recognise the exact reference in this listing, so there is no bid ladder from auction results. Here is a rough guide from what dealers ask for the most similar watches instead.

Dealers askUSD 11,330median, 6 similar
Fees and import+32%on top of the hammer
Most to bidUSD 6,900hammer

Bought here, the buyer's premium, shipping, and import VAT and duty to Denmark add about 32% to the hammer. Stop at about USD 6,900 and you pay 20% less than a dealer's USD 11,330: a fair discount for buying without a dealer's warranty or return. A rough guide from the 6 most similar Omega De Ville listings (USD 7,525 – 15,202), not the same reference.

Before you bidfive checks
  • The seller guarantees in writing that the watch is genuine and takes it back if it is not.
  • The photos show the case back, clasp, and the serial and reference numbers between the lugs. Ask for them if not.
  • You know every fee: the buyer's premium (often 20–25% online), shipping and insurance, and import VAT.
  • "New", "polished" and "electronically tested" prove nothing: polished means it has been worked on, and an electronic test checks gold, not a watch.
  • Decide your maximum before the sale and don't go above it.
